THE SCIENCE What's going on? Magnetism, gravity, and physics are all at work here. The metal shaft running through the Orbiter is a strong magnet which holds it on the track. Gravity is the force that starts the orbiter rolling along the track as you slowly tilt your Orbitron back and forth in a circular motion. As the speed of the Orbiter is increasing, it builds up inertia which keeps it spinning even after you have stopped supplying the energy. WOW!
